Book Your Puppy Meet & Greet with La Rose Cavaliers

At La Rose Cavaliers, we understand that the six-week mark in a puppy's life is a pivotal time filled with growth and development. During this stage, our puppies undergo important milestones, including veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, microchipping, and essential socialisation and training.
We believe that being informed about these steps is crucial for ensuring a healthy and well-adjusted future for your new furry family member.
Veterinary Check-Up
At six weeks, it’s time for their first vaccination with the veterinarian. We take our pups to Beleura Veterinary Clinic in Mornington. This check-up is essential for evaluating their overall health.
During this visit, the vet conducted:
a thorough physical examination;
checked for any congenital health issues;
microchipped and added each puppy to CAR (Canine Animal Records)
discussed diet and nutrition tailored for Cavaliers
Provide guidance on care and training specific to Cavaliers
All puppy did extremely well and have had no adverse reactions other than being very sleepy after the vaccination.
Vaccination Schedule
At La Rose Cavaliers, we prioritise our puppies' health through a comprehensive vaccination schedule. At six weeks, our puppies may receive their first round of vaccinations.
These vaccines are vital for protecting our puppies from serious diseases. We emphasise the importance of following the vet's recommended vaccination schedule to ensure your puppy remains fully protected. The next are due at 10 weeks and 14 weeks.
Microchipping for Safety
We believe that microchipping is a simple yet effective way to ensure our puppies can be identified if they ever get lost. At this age, we recommend microchipping, which involves:
Inserting a small chip under the puppy's skin
Registering the chip with your contact information
This permanent form of identification is crucial for your puppy’s safety and can help reunite you with your pet if they wander off.
Increasing Socialisation
Socialisation is a key aspect of a puppy’s development, and at La Rose Cavaliers, we think this is the fun part, and encourage early socialisation efforts. At six weeks, our puppies are highly receptive to new experiences and interactions. To enhance your puppy’s socialisation, we recommend creating positive experiences by:
Introducing them to various people, including children and adults
Exposing them to different environments, sounds, and surfaces
Encouraging positive interactions with other vaccinated dogs
These experiences will help our puppies grow into well-adjusted adult dogs.
This week their new experiences included:
play time in the front yard to hear cars and traffic sounds;
a car trip to the vet;
meeting a big fluffy 10-month Cavoodle for play;
meeting new unfamiliar people;
hearing more household sounds like vacuums, hairdryers, pots banging etc.

Our white girl has met her furever family and they are planning to name her Lottie.
We are so excited for her.
Congratulations Lottie!
Training Basics
Training should begin as soon as early as possible. At six weeks, we commenced basic commands and house training.
Teaching simple commands like "sit," "stay," and "come"
Establishing a consistent potty routine - they are toiletting each time we take them to the lawn
Using positive reinforcement techniques, such as treats and praise
Crate training - allowing the puppies to sleep in the crate to make transition to homes easier
Early training not only fosters good behaviour but also strengthens the bond between you and your puppy.
